28 June: EPP leaders to meet for Party Summit in Brussels ahead of European Council

EU and non-EU heads of state and government and opposition leaders of the European People's Party (EPP), along with the Presidents of the European Council and the European Commission - Herman VAN ROMPUY and José Manuel BARROSO - have been invited to participate in the upcoming enlarged Summit of the Party, which will take place in Brussels on 28 June 2012. On the agenda will be the preparation of the European Council, scheduled for 28 and 29 June 2012.

EPP President Wilfried MARTENS will host the EPP Summit. EPP Secretary

General Antonio LÓPEZ-ISTÚRIZ and the members of the EPP Presidency will also attend.

The EPP currently has 16 out the 27 members in the European Council: Angela MERKEL (Germany), Mariano RAJOY (Spain), Jean-Claude JUNCKER (Luxembourg), Traian BĂSESCU (Romania), Donald TUSK (Poland), Fredrik REINFELDT (Sweden), Jyrki KATAINEN (Finland), Viktor ORBÁN (Hungary), Enda KENNY (Ireland), Valdis DOMBROVSKIS (Latvia), Boyko BORISOV (Bulgaria), Lawrence GONZI (Malta), Andrius KUBILIUS (Lithuania), Pedro PASSOS COELHO (Portugal), Janez JANŠA (Slovenia) and Antonis SAMARAS (Greece).
